Recalling my best hiking and sketching memories of 2017
I hiked quite a few miles this year and filled several sketchbooks on the way.
A trip to North Yorkshire to explore the Tabular Hills Walk and the Cleveland Way took me to some memorable spots with wonderful names, across expanses of high moorland and through forested dales ending up on the coast at Saltburn-by-the-Sea and staying a few nights in the picturesque fishing port of Staithes. I spent occasional days sketching in Whitby and Scarborough too.
Here is a selection of my sketches…
A great variety of subjects and some evocative sketches – my faves: the holloway, the pissoir, Staithes and the window with bottles 🙂
