I have been corrected by Sue who is our Kiwi house sitter back in Ireland. She tells me that ‘post boxes’ are where you post a letter and these are ‘mail boxes’. Perhaps, but in England where I grew up we had ‘letter boxes’ and where we posted a letter was a ‘pillar box’! So sorry if I go on calling them post boxes for now!
