We came out of Level 4 lockdown today, and took little Esme to the beach. Lockdown has been hard for her too, especially as missing nursery and trips out can’t be explained to her. I was expecting the beaches to be popular but Paton’s Rock was deserted with only two or three people on 5km of golden sand. We collected shells, watched a ‘Sand Dollar’ burrowing down into the sand at the tideline, sat in a driftwood bivouac and ran about in the sunshine.
In the afternoon we went to Pupu Springs and it was nearly deserted; the river gurgled and the springs surged, welling up in blue and green whirlpools of clear, fresh water.

A very cheerful postbox plus teddy. Wasn’t it great to be out.
Love your symbolic mailbox!
Thanks! It came along at just the right time – and it really was open!
There is certainly a great deal of variety of mailboxes. Stay safe.
I wonder just how many more of these stunners you will find…..thinking there are heaps about, along quiet rural roads. You’ll find them 🙂
